As a small business owner, I am so grateful for my clients who come back to me over and over again for their work. It’s such an honor to know that they are trusting me with their product and brand, and it’s not a responsibility I take lightly! This past month Maeve’s All Natural commissioned me to photograph their new organic, vegan makeup line.
Beauty products are some of the most fun to style and photograph! The style is usually so beautiful, natural, and feminine – which is right up my alley.
About the Shoot – Organic Makeup Photography
For this makeup line, the team at Maeve’s wanted a few different looks. First, they wanted clean, white studio product images. Along with this, they wanted some crisp, clean images of their lipsticks and glosses with a swatch of color. I photographed the products in two separate shoots – first studio, then lifestyle.
For the studio, I used soft lighting for the product images, and rake lighting for the more dramatic marketing images.
For the lifestyle images, the team shared inspiration images with me of the style and props they wanted to use. I styled and photographed the products based on the vision they gave me, along with my own personal creativity.
Along with the more typical light, bright, feminine lifestyle images, Mimi wanted to implement some more modern photos with interesting lighting effects. It was so fun experimenting with these, to get the shadows into interesting shapes and lines!
