Hey! I’m Whitney Finuf – pronounced “fine – uff”, like “fine enough”, and I’m the photographer behind all the lovely photos you see here!
I’m a girl who grew up traveling the country, and developed a love for exploring the world through my camera. I have lived in Utah, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado, Oregon, and Virginia, and have traveled to Iceland, Switzerland, England, France, and all over the United States! Photography was a way for me to observe and soak up each new place I lived, and I still find inspiration and rejuvenation when I travel.
I’m a portrait and commercial photographer, which means I work with businesses, models, and sometimes individuals and couples, to provide photographs based on their needs. I love doing commercial photography because of the versatility that’s in the field. One day I’ll be photographing fashion designs with models, the next I’ll be styling product flat lays, making them look their very best. My clients have included companies such as Called to Surf, Costa Vida, Door Dash, and more.
Currently I run my own business providing these services to business owners and individuals, but someday I’d like to own my own studio, where I can provide photography services, while selling my own prints and home décor on the side.
I love creating art based on what inspires me! Some of my major influences are photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Joey Lawrence, Richard Avedon, and more. I also love artists like Monet, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh. I often scour magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, Time, and more to see what photographers are doing in my field.
Aside from photography, I enjoy reading (especially while taking a bubble bath!), trying new cultural recipes, playing with my adorable dog, and watching Parks and Rec or The Office when I need a break. I love researching new projects and exploring new ideas on my own time. I am married to an amazing man who is incredibly supportive of my goals and dreams, and we love trying new things (like goga: aka goat yoga), being in nature, and trying new recipes together.

I’m the oldest of 9 siblings, and counting! 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Chris and I met in Maryland, and got married in Salt Lake City, UT in 2016!
My favorite movie is About Time – SUCH a great message & sweet story!
I am trying to learn how to watercolor in my free time 🙂
I know how to create tin types – which are photographs created with chemicals on tin plates. It’s a process that was invented in the 1800s!
I love working with film – especially black and white 35 mm film
