Kailie did an amazing job on the hair and makeup for my starry night fashion photoshoot! When she asked me to photograph Miss Utah 2017, Hayley Huntsman, I couldn’t say no!
It was a beautiful spring morning, and we met in Provo at the City Center temple to take some bridal glam fashion portraits. Hayley was crowned as Miss Utah United States in 2017. She now works as a physical therapist. She graduated from BYU and started doing pageants while she was in college. It started out as kind of a joke from her friends, but once she started doing them she fell in love! She made a beautiful model, and it was so fun to photograph her.
Kailie is a talented hair and makeup artist, and did a beautiful job, as always! The berry red lip matched perfectly with the spring flowers. We first went to the Provo temple. This is because we knew the gardens around the temple would be a beautiful space for glam, fashion inspired bridal portraits. We then walked over to a parking garage nearby. This is because we wanted some edgy, more urban shots as well. The drama of Hayley’s pose complemented the dramatic space really nicely, especially in the last shot!
Hayley brought one of her pageant gowns. It was a fairly simple white piece, with a touch of glamour in the crystal studded shimmery gold lace sides. It was a beautiful modern gown!
My favorite part of this session was finding new places to photograph. It’s always an exciting challenge to have to find creative shots within a commonly photographed place. I also enjoyed getting to know Kailie and Hayley better. Kailie is rocking it as a mom and a HMUA! And Hayley was so much fun to talk with, and to work with to get these beautiful shots.
